In the early '90s, years after graduating from Hollywood High in Hollywood, CA, cousins Daniel L Allen and Charles Harris were walking together to the corner store. Along the way they saw an illustration of a character with bulging muscles to which Mr. Allen exclaimed, "He's massive! They should have called him Mass." And the light bulb moment was upon them. Mr. Allen imagined a character who could change his mass at will and ended up naming him Kyd Mass. Mr. Harris said whatever his cousin could think of, he could draw.
That night Mr. Allen couldn't sleep until he had written down 11 characters with summaries, plots, and descriptions laid out for his cousin to draw. From that moment forward the cousins would continue to work with one another to produce property after property of animated characters, storylines, and universes. Their first works included Kyd Mass, Icela and the Homies, Szhe Wolf, M.A.T.I.O.N, Baby P.I., DarkFin, Jr's Jungle, Benny and the Bat, The 100 Journeys of Terry MacMyers, NightFire and WildSpeed, The Becomer, and many more which were copywritten in 1995 under "Daniel L Allen's Short tales" by Daniel L. Allen and "Vision comix: we have the vision" by Daniel L. Allen and illustrated by Charles Harris. Also in 1995, their first Kyd Mass comic book was published.
The Allen Harris duo have continued their creative journey for over 25 years, now presenting five universes of characters, comics, and content. The Allen Harris Animation Licensing Group LLC has expanded its brand to include 3D models, 3D animation, online gaming, merchandising, character licensing, digital trading cards, cards games and board games, AHA Comix, and AHA Films.
